I’m getting all excited again just to tell ya. This past Sunday for memorial weekend I was on Instagram and saw that hillsongs has a church in NYC and I didn’t even know!! so I had to go.! Not knowing what to expect I got all dressed up in church clothes only to feel like a outcast cuz everyone was dressed normally lol. Come as you are type dress code which is awesome.

This particular serv started at 12 I was there at 11:30 and the line to get in was literally raped (wrapped) around the block. I have never seen a line in front of church lol.me and my boo thang (who’s not into church)  didn’t know what to expect. The moment I came in I was greeted with smiles, hugs handshakes. For the first half hour we had to stand in the balcony due to over crowding. It really felt like I was at a concert not church the lights were off and had the lighting on stage. After a half hour a random girl tapped us and whispered come with me! (Very odd) but we were like what the hell lol she took our hand and led us all the way to the front 3row from the stage and we got seats!! Awesome!! We even got cupcakes and water during announcements !! Yum!! ^_^

the worship was so beautiful it seemed like heaven on earth how everyone was just soaking in the presence if God lifting there hands. The age group seemed from 18-35 didn’t see or hear any lol kids or old ppl which is great cuz I always wonder where are the Christians my age! Def a diverse group to. Guest speaker was Robert madu he was HAlarious he started off just talking bout himself and went into experiences he witnessed and connected it so well to his sermon I didn’t even know he was started preaching .  He use quotes from the bible which backed up what he was saying which I loved. It was just awesome which the church was in queens I’d attend her more often.after church meet sum friendly ppl and outside I saw a girl prob 16holding a sign saying after church hangout which is great fellowship is very important especially for young ones. Def will go back

This church is NOT for everyone.

My friends and I had already heard that you need to get there an hour early to stand in line and be guaranteed good seating, so we did exactly that.  We were near the front of what seemed to stretch all the way to the end of the block.  This was in the winter when it was freezing cold.  When they finally let us in, we were appalled to find that there were no seats available on the main floor.  The best seats were reserved for ministry volunteers, and most of the others had people’s jackets already sitting on them.  We later found out that people would sneak into the services before just to gain access to seating.

For a church that has already been around for a few years, it’s disconcerting that they have not addressed this major concern.  By the time we realized that all the seats were already filled on the main level, we had already lost the seats on the balcony.  We had to stand the entire time.  This was in addition to the hour we stood outside in the freezing cold.

The sermon was entertaining and seemed a bit like a stand-up comedy act with bits of scripture tossed in, though with a rather crude sense of humor – the kind of humor that will take you back to your less mature high school days.  The preacher raved that the “hot woman who gave the announcement earlier” is in fact his wife, and how he couldn’t wait for church to be over so that he could “rush home to make out with her”.  This seemed to be the general flavor of how he joked throughout his sermon, and he seemed to enjoy talking an awful lot about himself.

If you are interested in attending a church that is less interested in serving new-comers, reserves their best seating for their own staff and friends, and you wish to stand the entire time, then this is the place for you.  If you’re lucky, you’ll get a gummy bear or two for appeasement. The half-cup of hot chocolate for standing out in the cold for an hour might also help make your wait worth while.  The service, however, was very entertaining with cool lights, smoke, and loud music – all the reasons why people REALLY ought to attend church!

This was stand up comedy with a bit of scripture thrown in… Pastor gave LONG comedic stories about himself, incl vomiting up spaghetti into his towel at the gym and wiping it all over his face… Then threw in a scripture about persevering…. Then another long comedy story about himself…  Volunteers/ staff coming and going and talking constantly during the sermon.

Person sitting beside us was talking on her phone through the sermon?
