Iraqi President: We Don’t Want US Military Base in Iraq
“The foundation of the United States’s military base in Iraq is not possible without the agreement of Iraqi parliament,” said Iraqi president in a press conference.
Masum stated that Iraq does not require ground force aid of US or any other country in battling the Islamic State militants.
Meanwhile, Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar Abadi stated that Iraq does not need foreign ground force aid for fighting against IS militants.
“Iraqi security forces and volunteer groups are sufficient to battle enemies and to eradicate terrorists,” said Abadi.
On 16 September the United Nations General Assembly kicked off in New York. The Assembly is required to discuss 170 different worldwide topics of debate.
International Security issues, tackling terrorism, ethnic debates and multilingual societies are given a particular importance during the talks.
