“After arriving home, the accused, being intoxicated, has begun arguing with all the partygoers including (his niece) demanding them all to get out,” according to police documents tendered to court.

“The victim and accused have engaged in a heated argument during which the victim told the accused that she had allowed the party to happen.

“ The accused had grabbed the victim by the neck. A physical altercation has ensued during which the victim has felt an impact to the right side of her head.” Police said Andrea was not injured.

The 56-year-old, who describes himself on his website as an “income acceleration coach”, appeared in Sydney’s Parramatta local court on Monday and watched from the public gallery as his solicitor entered a guilty plea to a charge of common assault on his behalf.

Prosecutors have agreed to drop a more serious charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Mesiti will remain on bail until his sentencing but must comply with an apprehended violence order, which will remain in place for one year and bars him from approaching his wife Andrea within 12 hours of consuming alcohol.

“In a nutshell, that means that you cannot do anything that makes her fear for her safety,” magistrate Karen Stafford told Mesiti.

“If you have a glass of wine with dinner at 7pm at night, you cannot go and see her until 7am the next morning.”

She warned Mesiti that if he breached the order he could spend up to two years behind bars.

Mesiti did not comment as he left the court and is expected to be sentenced on 23 March.

Patt Mesiti was one of Hillsong Church’s major teaching pastor.  He had shared the same platform as senior pastor Brian Houston, Bobbie Houston, Darlene Zschech, Christine Caine and others in bringing God’s Word to the congregations Sunday after Sunday.

However, ever since he has been caught sleeping with prostitutes, he was forced to leave the Australian mega church.

According to, the 56 year-old former pastor has been charged with two domestic violence offences, common assault and assault occasioning actual bodily harm, both of which were allegedly committed against his wife Andrea in the northwest suburb of Glenhaven between 10pm on December 30 and 10.35pm on December 31. He has entered a plea of not guilty on both counts.

“I was basically struggling with a sexual addiction,” he told the Christian magazine Sight in 2006. Two years later he told the New Zealand Herald he had “lost everything” following the revelations.

“I was so depressed that I couldn’t talk for two years. I struggled with my mental health.”

Currently, Mesiti is a prosperity speaker who speaks to business leaders about how to experience growth stretching their prosperity to its greatest potential.  Mesiti has an ambition of making 10,000 millionaires in his life time.
