Over two million cases of donuts have been recalled due to a potential ongoing listeria contamination across the United States and Canada.
The US Food and Drug Administration issued a recall of 2,017,614 cases of assorted donuts from FGF LLC on Wednesday due to fears of a Listeria monocytogenes contamination first announced on January 7, 2025.
About 60 different products from the Indiana-based company were recalled.
Some of the recalled products include cake donut rings, raspberry-filled donuts, Bavarian-filled donuts, and various Dunkin’ Donuts items, including two kinds of munchkin flavors.
The recall includes all products within expiration produced December 13, 2024, and before.
The outbreak’s source has not been released, nor was a press release issued for the recall.
The recall is classified as a Class II recall by the FDA, meaning that the recalled products pose a lower risk of causing serious harm.
Listeriosis, which is caused by Listeria monocytogenes, is more dangerous to vulnerable groups such as those who are pregnant, 65 or older or those with weakened immune systems.
Symptoms can include fever, muscle aches, headaches, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance, and convulsions.
In those who are pregnant, the infection can lead to miscarriages, still births, premature delivery, or life-threatening infections in newborns.
Affected products should be discarded or returned to the place of purchase for a full refund and surfaces and utensils should be thoroughly sanitized.
Visit the FDA website for further information and anyone experiencing symptoms should contact their healthcare provider.

The recall comes after broccoli sold in Walmart across 20 states was recalled after listeria bacteria was detected in one batch.
None of the broccoli included in the recall remain on grocery store shelves, but officials fear they could still be lurking in customers’ freezers.
The FDA has updated the recall as a ‘Class I’ as the broccoli has ‘the potential to be contaminated with the bacteria listeria, which infects around 1,600 Americans each year and kills up to 260.
A ‘Class I’ recall is a ‘situation in which there is a reasonable probability that the use of, or exposure to, a violative product will cause serious adverse health consequences or death’.
Consumption of food contaminated with listeria monocytogenes can cause listeriosis, a serious infection that primarily affects older adults, persons with weakened immune systems, and pregnant women and their newborns.
Revealing the recall, officials said testing by the Texas Department of Health had detected the bacteria in one of several batches sold in their state.
The broccoli has been sold in 20 states: Alaska, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
It has a sell-by date of December 10, and a lot code – found printed on the front of the bag – of BFFG327A6.
The broccoli was manufactured by Braga Fresh, which sells greens such as salads, celery and parsley to major grocery stores.
