In July of 2011, I wrote my 3 part article series on HELLSONG – The Music of Hillsong. In those articles I sought to show that Hillsong were at that stage heading down a very dangerous track, making reference to ‘Aftermath’ and ‘Chaos and Order’ themes.

Hillsong LIVE have released their 22nd live-recorded album, Glorious Ruins, on July 2 2013.
Recorded for the first time live in two locations – London, England and Sydney, Australia – Glorious Ruins is consistent with Hillsong’s passion to promote themselves around the WORLD. The live album offers the church a NEW ERA of worship anthems that will cross multiple denominational and cultural boundaries.
“Ruins can speak of crushing defeat or perhaps of something abandoned, but the good news today is that the ruins come to life,” explains Senior Pastor of Hillsong Church Brian Houston. “Through Jesus Christ what we look at is ruins that become glorious.” He made similar comments in May after the devastating twisters hit parts of Oaklohoma.
The following is an outline by Brian Houston, as part of introducing, or explaining the new Hillsong Album – Glorious Ruins, just released yesterday (2nd July 2013)
BH: ‘Still my hope will cling to your promise.. let my heart find strength in your presence. Let the ruins come to life ? “
No …he’s not quoting scripture in some modern paraphrase, he’s quoting from a verse in the song Glorious Ruins, the NEW song from the album of the self same name.
BH: Glorious Ruins is what this song is called….. (quoting Brian)
And Jesus who left behind God’s glory to taste death for you and I … became “ruined glory”, ..and rather than remaining “ruined glory”, Jesus became glorious ruins? Ah…Glorious ruins.’
C.S.Lewis discribed mankind as ‘Glorious Ruins’, because of our fallen nature, but that hardly applies to the Son of God?
Brian is known for his blundering and off the cuff bloopers, but this is just more of his presumptuous pontificating and he gets it completely wrong. This is ‘Brian’s Blasphemy” at its’ best.
God’s wrath was gloriously meted out on Christ. He was bruised and beaten beyond recognition. Gloriously marred, and broken, but never left in ruins.
The Lord Jesus wasn’t raised ‘glorious ruins’ but rather as the King of Kings and Lord of Lords;
Revelation 1:5
“And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth.”
Revelation 1:17,18
“Fear not; I am the first and the last: 18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.”
This Church is blown around by every wind of doctine so no wonder our Lord is maligned and made just an example to follow. Jesus may as well be a man, simply a common carpenter for all that Brian Houston cares. His command of the scriptures is apalling, belittling, twisting who Jesus really is — the KING OF GLORY!!
Who God raised from the dead and has given a name above every name; that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow…
The following are some of the lyrics from the ill fated song….
Glorious Ruins – Lyrics
CHORUS
Let the ruins come to life
In the beauty of Your Name
Rising up from the ashes
God forever You reign
If this Chorus is about Jesus then they are now well and truly in dangerous waters?!
John11:25
Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life:he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
Ps 16:10
For you will not leave my soul in sheol; NEITHER will you allow your Holy One to see CORRUPTION.
Yet this is Brian Houston’s version of events (Quote_)
“The most powerful example of this in the Bible is the death and resurrection of God’s own Son. He emptied Himself of the glory of God, came humbly to earth, allowed his body to be beaten and killed, and ‘LAY IN RUINS’, until He was resurrected from the dead.”
My rebuttal is we know that Christ’s body was raised to life on the third day according to the scriptures. Therefore for it to lie in ruins (stinking and in putrefaction) this meant his body must have stayed in the ground for 4 days or more. Why? ( Because the body starts to breakdown and decay at this point).
Remember Lazarus? His body according to his sister would stink out the tomb! See – John 11:39
So if Jesus body did end up in the tomb left to LAY IN RUINS, was it 4 days, 4 weeks, 4 months or 4 years?
– When the bible speaks of ruins it is always in the sense of a complete destruction.
Deuteronomy 13:16
Micah 1:6-7
For I will make Samaria a heap of ruins in the open country, Planting places for a vineyard. I will pour her stones down into the valley And will lay bare her foundations. All of her idols will be smashed, All of her earnings will be burned with fire And all of her images I will make desolate, For she collected them from a harlot’s earnings, And to the earnings of a harlot they will return.

Brian Houston should be on Candid Camera, his exegesis to complete Tom Foolery, and Hillsong should be laughed out of town, and declared a cult by all of Christendom!
In the occult world, the Phoenix bird is a representation of Lucifer and his Antichrist.
Interestingly, Luciferians describe their future world leader in similar ‘copycat’ terms to the biblical picture of the Lord Jesus: The Antichrist is portrayed as someone who seemingly rises from the ashes of death and defeat.I find it disturbing that this album is their 22nd release. If you know anything about numbers and the Occult; then you will know – Houston we have a problem!

See my other article — Hillsong, Jay Z, the Illuminati, and the Coming Anti -Christ to understand this connection…

He is ignorant of the truth as said by Jsus in John’s Gospel, that there was glory in His going to the cross. He does not understand that Peter declares that in death, Jesus went through life. He is the Life. Perhaps there has been a wrong teaching such as the Kenosis. It was taught years ago. It is that the Word, who became flesh, left Hi Divinity behind. That is gross error. This Christ would not have bee the Divine One in eternity. It would not be He but who would it have been? God was manifested in the flesh but the Word, the Son of God, was made flesh in the womb of Mary. The Holy Ghost overshadowed her and ‘that holy’ thing was in her, willingly by the Son of the Father who begat Him and the operation of the Holy Ghost. This error in Australia has led to a willingness to listen to doctrines that say He is only, ‘Jesus the Anointed’. That expression always in Jewish thought meant He was the Son of God, or Divine as well as Human.
Such blasphemy in that song and indeed most of their songs are void of true gospel or theology.
Thanks Irene, that helps explain alot. There is a similar teaching through ministries like Bill Johnson.
Numbers 19:17 NKJV
17 ‘And for an unclean person they shall take some of the ashes of the heifer burnt for purification from sin, and running water shall be put on them in a vessel.
The red heifer is a typology of Jesus Christ. It being burnt and sacrificed a picture of the cross, Jesus receiving the fire of judgment on our behalf.
Hebrews 9 NKJV
13 For if the blood of bulls and goats and the ashes of a heifer, sprinkling the unclean, sanctifies for the purifying of the flesh, 14 how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
Matthew 7:2 NKJV
2 For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.
Please understand this verse applies to yourself as much as others.
Now, why do you have more knowledge about the occult than about the Bible?
Dear Tacobell,
Alot of beautiful typology can be found in the scripture which point exclusively to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
I could point to the way the Israelites camp was set out, that from a birds eye view formed the cross. I could mention the darkness that fell over the land of Egypt, and yet the Israelites under the protection of the blood on the doorposts and lintel. They were to ‘strike’ or smite the doors with the hyssop plant.
We could talk of the two scapegoats, where one is sent out into the wilderness.
All of these are types…They illustrate the message of the gospel in their various forms, they help us, as they point to the cross.
But they do not form the basis of our theology.
Was JESUS a red heifer, a goat or the lamb of God?
His cry was on the cross was “It is finished’…(completed, fulfilled, lacking nothing)
Jesus did not experience hell in some loathsome torment, but went there and preached His victory to the antideluvian.
In other words the heifer speaks of the judgement of God on sin, BUT Jesus was not literally the heifer. He was NOT cremated.
He took our sin in His body on the tree (not in hell); his body never saw corruption nor was it destroyed in fire and ashes.
This article is completely and utterly ridiculous, and will grieve God’s heart more than any of your presumptions about the motives behind the songs. If you suggest for one second that the pastors and leaders of hillsong are anything other than in love with Jesus, you’re sorely mistaken. Your pedantic scrutiny of their music is a reflection of a heart full of judgment for others who are quite simply doing an incredible job of reaching millions of people with the simple message of the gospel.
We are HUMAN. We say things off the cuff. But you have calculated and planned out an argument in which you call a Pentecostal group who love Jesus, ‘HELLSONG’.
Who do you think you are?
Steve,
Such a superficial assessment means that one should not critique or criticise, Jehovah Witnesses, or the Roman Catholic church. Yes I am suggesting that the pastors and leaders of hillsong are deceived, and deceiving the people. They are anything but serving God.
Another way of looking at the lyrics can be that we are the ruins and with God, we rise up.
http://www.sdrock.com/messages/2013-06-09/ put it better.
A song is open to interpretation, if the pessimist in you chooses to pick it apart then that’s your doing. To me it’s an uplifting song,
Yes Rhea I get it, but if you hadnt noticed we are interpreting every second song of Hillsong’s.
Yes we rise up, but who actually rose up from the grave in the truest sense? We rise not from ashes, but out of the grave. We were dead in trespasses and sin. – Romans 6
Once again Christianity made into our experience, our testimony, our freedom, our victory. You can have your opinion thinking that someone shoudnt be critiquing a song you like.
But the doctrine should be clear and understandable not this strange mystic mythology that Hillsong is currently producing.
I stand by the article negative or not because the song it is a weighted reference to the phoenix, which is the bird that represents the COMING ANTICHRIST!
