Hillsong UNITED’s Joel Houston appeared in studio recently on FoxNews LIVE online talking about their recent release Zion as well as their upcoming US tour. In case you missed it, here’s the interview.
In the interview, Joel talked about how UNITED has grown over the years in their mission, “Our music has found a voice and given us the opportunity to take the songs places we could never have imagined. Our main cause is to unite people around common causes in the name of Jesus.”
You got that didn’t you? Joel said “our MAIN cause is to UNITE people around common causes…”
That could mean;
– All faiths
– Poverty
– Baking cakes
– Selling concert tickets
– Building shelters
– Giving out food and clothing
– Helping schools and Hospitals
Around common causes,like we all believe in a supreme being, we all believe in justice, we all believe in prayer, and help and assistance for the poor, but that’s not enough NO MENTION IS MADE OF THE GOSPEL!
HILLSONG IS NOTHING MORE THAN A TOOL TO BRING ECUMENICAL RELIGION TO THE BODY OF CHRIST!

That is all their music is good for. It is not Christian. It lacks gospel. It is not Biblical. Where is the theology? None of the truth of Christ can be found. Most certainly it is not a means of worship and neither is it worship. So what is it?
As a sold out, die hard follower of Jesus let me be the first to tell you that you are being a judgemental a-hole. You’re just another one of these legalistic bloggers who is jealous of the impact others are having on people for Jesus and the Gospel and you need attention. So you’re going to try an wring ANYTHING you can pluck from this with your condescending little tweezers. How dare you try to judge people who are going all over the world changing lives for Jesus?! I mean what kind of nerve does that truly take?? And your commentor Irene has CLEARLY never listened to their music. She just wants to weigh in with no weight at all behind her assertions Consider this a rebuke. Now, in the most sincere way however, I do mean this. I will be praying for you. We need to tear down the walls! Finally! Not in the sense that all religions should merge but in the sense that we need to reach out to all the lost AND all Gospel believing denominations need to unite for something greater than themselves or their national leadership – for the Gospel. To follow Christ is the one way to Heaven and we should follow nothing else but we should be reaching out for EVERYONE. Otherwise why are we even here?? God used these people to change my life. Jesus is using them to tear down the walls of sin and division. You are building walls. Again, and I do mean this, I am praying for you brother. Before you lambast me for even daring to disagree with you and even rebuke you on you own post, please – just think about it. God Bless.

Dear Brother, I salute your fervency,thank u for your prayers for one, who has been in Pentecostal/Charismatic/denominational churches/seminaries/places for 85 years, ministering for over 50 years in some thousands, . So I surely know very much about music, hymns, choruses,choirs, groups. Having been a musician for 80 years, teacher, performer (first playing piano in an Elim Church, age 5, been choir conductor etc. – that speaks something? As well, I was at Frank Houston’s church some times when he had the first ex-rock male singer (even then I saw the danger and errors). Then I was still in A.O.G. (we pastored) when the next ex rock singer was introduced, Daelene. I also heard music from both sources. Of late years was in churches wherevHillson music was used. After some time of putting up withe the discordant, worldly, rock concert style, darkened churches with strobe lights, we would enter church when the rock fantasies ended. Sorr, my dear brother but all my life I have been blessed with knowing the anointing of the Spirit, wtth experiencing those mose amazing moves of the Spirit in our ministry where many multitudes have been gloriously baptized with the Spirit, even 4,000 as I ministered in that precious way in 6 months Brisbane C.O.C.
Yes, I have ministered the same, sometimes in one meeting, many hundreds baptized with the Spirit in a few minutes, always praying, worshipping in other tongues and have led crowds into true worship and in Holy Ghost singing as worship. My brother, may your zeal get you into the Spritt, even as John’was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day!
I mourn that mychildren grand-children churches, are not privileged to have truly theologically based songs.

Dear bro. as one in Pentecostal/charismatic/denominational churches 85 yrs. music of all kinds was there. As a professional musician, with family singers in their own bands, I say that rock music in churches is an abomination. The evil Talmudic Jews world wide, oligarchy, conspired to bring down youth, 1950, with rock.
I was familiar with Frank Houston’s male ex-rock and then Darlene came (she having known my niece and sister) but I stood my ground for Christ, His Word and truth. Having played for singing myself in churches, 45 years and ministered the word of truth and the Spirit in thousands of places, seminaries, churches, groups,numbering hundreds upon hundreds of thousands, this is not from jealousy. I love Zion, the CITY of our God, that Holy mount, the true Church of Jesus.
It has been my privilege to see many multitudes filled with the Spirit, speaking profusely in other tongues when I then led them into Holy Ghost worship, not from this earth, nor of instruments of music ‘made with hands’, as said in Acts God does not receive Thank God He does show some grace but what of the world’s judgment? Are you a friend of that world? We cannot ‘eat at the Lord’s table (holiness) and the table of demons (includes rock music). Rock singers publicly say they consort with demons, witchcraft, have drugs, much illicit sex, and their on stage shows are full of sexual movements and oh that mesmeizing jumping up and down!
There should be worship, of the Spirit that is a must for worship. Eph.5:18-21 shows we personally are to sing in the Spirit; not hymns of the church or Psalms of the O.T. but words from the Spirit personally. Who is doing this? Music is a major down fall for Pentecostals, Charismatics.
Old hymns at least were never fragmented, as is Hillsong music, such from a fragmented society we have 2 out of 3 homes of one parent. You like fragmented societies and their music? What of the immorality, homosexuality, lesbianism and scanty dress. sexually alluring, of our day. Rock singers say it is the beat that controls emotions of the crowd that become putty in their hands to do! Such are demonic and now your bed-fellows with your ‘Christian’ rock. I took my singer daughter as invited to 9th world-wide American top singer performers from U.S. and elsewhere. She sang. They talked of cross-over then did it. Some repented of that, e,g. Steve Camp. Yes, I’ve heard hHllsong’s, in many churches for 50 yrs., male ex rocker with Frank, Darlene, Joel. I feel sorry for the new converts who surely know little. Judgmental? Cannot be. Only Christ knows all
Having pastored, an A.O G. 15 yrs., ministered widely, hundreds of thousands, filled with the Spirit, speakng then as led, worshipping in the Spirit,, seen multiple healings, worshipped accdg. to Eph. 5:18-21, inthe Spirit, not church songs, music, one must say, how glorious to be in heaven’s courts and not as the carnal, worldly do.
