Australian worship leader Darlene Zschech will join renowned tenor Andrea Bocelli at an ecumenical prayer and worship event for the persecuted church hosted by Pope Francis at the Vatican today. ‘Voices in Prayer’ will draw thousands of worshippers to St Peter’s Square this evening. Other musicians involved in the event include American worship leader Don Moen and Israeli singer-songwriter Noa (Anchinoam Nini).
Zschech, who co-leads Hope Unlimited Church in New South Wales, described the event on Facebook as “a celebration of unity and peace,” adding: “Amazing days for the Body of Christ.”
“This ecumenical event brings Protestants, Catholics, and Jews together as we pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ who are being martyred and persecuted all over the world today,” said Moen in a statement.
“Although there are many denominational differences throughout the church worldwide, I have seen firsthand how coming together in worship and prayer promotes unity. Join me as we pray for those who are being jailed, beaten, and killed for professing their belief in Jesus Christ.” It has been organised by the Catholic Charismatic Renewal movement. The movement’s president, Salvatore Martinez, said: “We want to give a voice to those who have lost the right to live, to have a home with their families and live with their loved ones. The right to confess a faith means the capacity to confess it freely.” Noa said on her Facebook page that she was proud to be performing in front of the Pontiff, saying: “Pope Francis, with his humility and humanity, is a true role model for all religious leaders.”
Bocelli, who is a devout Catholic, is also due to perform in front of the Pope on his visit to the US in September

Why does she think that these closer spiritual ties are somehow providential and for the betterment of Christianity?
The Pope is not called the Vicar of Christ for nothing, and is not Mary the Co-Redeemer still?
Darlene Zschech is dancing with deception or worse?

Well Lance, when you come from Hillsong which doesn’t preach truth. When you have many apostate churches aligning themselves now with Rome. When Pastors world wide hang off everything the pope says, tweets or does. This does not surprise us.These pastors, leaders in the church etc are helping the pope build the one world religion. Just one more thing to show it aint the Risen Lord they truly adore and worship. It’s a jesus of their own imagination. It’s the jesus that satan has created for them. Just one more apostasy sending them all to hell.
I’m a Catholic and I actually agree with the last comment. There will always be misunderstandings amongst us until Jesus Comes Again, but I’m only interested in following the Truth, as Jesus taught It, and you won’t hear the truth from this Pope. He is indeed going to head up the One World Church and is presently wooing the Pentecostals and all the other Christian denominations – as well as the Hindu’s, Buddhist – everyone. He will align himself with the Antichrist who will soon appear on the scene, and then it will be time for the Remnant Church to forget all their differences and unite or be swallowed into the great deception. Darlene is right in much of what she says though – we do love Jesus as much as you and I am prepared to give my life for His Truths in the days ahead. God Bless you all.
Hi Jan,
Thanks for your thoughts.
